well i just finished up my valves had some issues but last night was the final night checked every thing and all was good. and i must say the truck never ran so quiet even from day one i have 98500 and my truck sounds better than new so i just wanted to tell you that doing valve adjustment is a must if you have a little ticking up front. going to be way easier to tell if i have injector rattle than be for.

sorry i am just excited about the new found ssssshhhhhhhhh of the truck engine

I want to, but never have done it on anything but atv's. Was it fairly easy?

you dont even need a barring tool just turn the alternator back and the belt will follow. it took me all but 30 min to get all adjusted and torqued the jam nut to 18 lbs. after i go the valves adjusted

it well worth it very easy

Here's a writeup from another forum. Set the intakes to 0.010" and the exhausts 0.020". http://dodgeforum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=117824

That's exactly how I did it except my valve cover said 0.026" for the exhaust valves. I only have 21k miles and none were out of tolerance but they weren't all the same - some of the exhausts were a couple thou loose and I'm too anal for that. [nonono] A little quieter now.

I would recommend heavy matts to protect the top & front of the intercooler fins plus they make it easier to lay across the top - the 6-cylinder CTD is a heck of a lot longer than my 6-cylinder BMW.
