If I need to pick up a used 205, what applications will fit? Is a Dodge diesel 205 different than a ferd of chebby? Which have the same spline count (29)?
I would rather have a good used one lined out to swap when I do the read main...

The splines may be the same but the ford ones drive the front on the drivers side, the chevy's on the passenger side and the dodges I don't know on the first gen. If you find out that a ford one will work then i've got a few of them that should be good that were good when pulled out. I think you could reseal one and it would give years of faithful service.

Chevys have several spline counts and two bolt patterns as well. Around 87 back is a figure 8 and later is circle pattern. Splines were 10 for the 4speed, 28 for TH350 and 32 for TH400....I think. It is something close to that, but a google search will clear it up for you.

There's a good site on the 205, I can't remember where, a google search should bring up something.

There's driver and passenger side drop. There are 2 different input bearing sizes. Several different input spline counts.

The 29 spline 205 in the dodge is unique. No one else used that spline count. The auto's used a 23 spline input. 29 spline ones use the larger bearing also.
