upgrade options- chip, downloader, programmer?

so my goal, is to have around 400-450 rwhp. im hoping to get there by next spring. im uncertian though on what direction i should go as far as chips/programmers go. i have thought about going with the smarty, or the predator/puck option. what else is out there? i currently have the quad xzt, and its a nice little chip. the amount of timing rattle/injector noise is alittle irritating so im looking for something that doesnt do that as much.

so what are my options? help me reach my goal. i def plan on going with a georend tc/vb, a mag-hytec deep pan, maybe a flexplate or something else to help the tranny. i wasnt sure what i should do with fueling as far as aftermarket lift pumps go. what do you think there? thanks for the help and insight guys, appreciate it.

Smarty has been fun (for me). It has a pretty bad rattle to it on the timing added numbers too though. If it were me (which it will be by summer time) I would look into a Glacier Diesel (Walbro) kit. I have read many, many success stories with that set up.

Smarty (with the trans work) will get you past the 400 mark no problem.

You can get about 475+ with smarty alone. Don't like timing?? Just use the even numbered sw's.

I have been conservatively figuring I was in the 440-460 range. Have yet to get it on the rollers though...

Always good to practice conservatism...FASB likes it. Anyways at 400-450rwhp you are pushing what your stock tranny can handle. I would do a Valve body and torque converter upgrade to help should the load and so long as you are not doing any boosted launches you should be ok. Then a TST with a pressure box and a descent fuel system and you should have that number no problem. As far as fuel systems go a Glacier diesel pump is nice and FASS is pretty good too. Personally since I am a poor college kid I am gonna run a Carter P4600HP or P4601HP lift pump inline with my stocker with a big line kit
