Unbelievable Truck Prices!

I was at my local dealer yesterday just looking around and off course you get swarmed by the salespeople. So the guy says to me, "Are yu interested in a new Ram?". I told him no because I love my 2006 5.9. He proceeded to show me a 2008 just like mine, and then what he said next blew my mind. He told me he could let me have any '08 on the lot for 50% off the MSRP! He walked over to the '08 like mine, the MSRP was $46,000, and he said he would let me have it for $23,000 today without me even negotiating! They are making room for '09's. I could not believe it. I paid $36,000 for mine in '06 and thought I got a good deal.

So, with your trade, they'd owe you money. Sounds good to me.

I think because you were not going to buy he would tell you anything. I wish I was back in the US, if that was his price I'd be there with the checkbook tomorrow.

Thats funny. Dealer up here only offered my friend $12k off and wouldn't go any lower. I should tell him to hop on a plane for Alabama.

Thats crazy. After a lot of hageling I've got my dealer down to $28,600. For a loaded 08. I was going to bring it home Tuesday... maybe I should try for a little more off. Where was that in Bama?

I bet they wouldn't offer much money for the trade. Who's going to buy a used 06 if they can get a new truck that cheap? I'd really hate to have a two-or-three year old truck right now the way prices are.

ALMOST makes me wish I would have waited a year longer to buy my big red baby. I say almost because I wouldn't have a choice of the 5.9 now.

All dodge dealers are trying to move out the new the 08's for the 09's it seems. They also would rather have a used truck sitting on there lot then a new leftover because i think chrysler wont send them trucks to fill in there lot i think.

I was stunned as well. This was at the Landers/McCarty Dodge Chrysler Jeep in Huntsville AL. The salesman told me they were trying very hard to get rid of all of their 08 models because the 09 were coming in and they had no room for them. I was not tempted at all to buy because of all the bad stuff I have heard about the 6.7. Plus, I am a few payments away from paying mine off. He said they would take 50% off any 08 MSRP on the lot.
