Bad u-joints will not always have play , there may be pressure on the drive train locking up a lose joint , get all wheels of ground to see if there lose .
It could the u-joints , but until you find it , it could be a few things , just have to look with all wheels off ground and look for lose parts , anything that moves could be making sounds , but more often than not , squealing may be wheel bearings , brakes , but hard to say with out hearing , or getting more description .

i have replaced u joints like 5 times so far, never had one with play, they all dried up and rollers were no good.doesn't seem to matter if its a grease type or sealed, they don't seem to last, i do how ever put alot of miles on my truck.

A bad U-joint will often heat up with use. After driving, get underneath and check by hand. I found one on my truck last summer with this method. Not very scientific, but effective.
