uhhh ohhhhh

So... I picked up a 2002 auto 3/4 ton quad cab short box 4x4 cummins and just today it started doing this. Sop at a stop sign, go to take off and it takes 1000 rpm and more to get it to start rolling. the last corner on the way home took almost 2000 rpm to do this. As far as i can tell its all stock.. Is there a decent to good trans to toss in this thing??? It is going to be used as a car, no real heavy towing. no heavy hauling. But i would like some kinda dependable trans in it.. BTW i only know its a auto.. I was going to get dodge to run the vin tomorrow to tell me more bout this truck..

Any help is greatly appreciated..

Gerald

Did you check all the fluids?
Sounds like it's taking the rpms to build up pressure to engage the clutch.
Check also the lines. It could be that one is plugged or crimped.

Fluids are good.. I can't find any pinched lines.. Someone mentioned a 2,000,000 lb press... send it this way for me to show this truck who is boss...
