U-Joint question
Two days ago I started noticing a vibration that I could really feel over the normal vibrations while driving down the freeway. At first I though it might be the road I was driving on but over the last couple days Ive come to realize that something is definately going on. I read all the threads on u-joints and it fits my symtoms to a tee. The question I have for everyone out there who has had it and fixed it by replacing the u-joints is how fast did it come on? I mean i went from no problems to a pretty good vibration in a few days, is this normal when they decide to go?

2005 Dodge 3500 4 wd left front wheel U joint.....
Had tires rotated at local tire shop and said the left front wheel U joint is starting to go.......Will this cause a problem if I wait to the clunking gets loud enough to hear before I do anything. Is this a big job to do at home in driveway..... Have plenty of hand tools and an air impact wrench. afish4570

I wouldn't wait till she snaps... If the caps are busted I wouldn't use 4wd. The only hard part is the hub if she seized the rest is cake few deep sockets and a hammer and your set.

My sons rear drive-shaft joint needle bearings were dried up like powder at 85,000. Got new HD grease-able joints and had it balanced all good again.........

Does anyone know about these stupid glue'd in u-joints in the front drive shaft! Can you replace them with the one's with clips or you need to glue them back in some how?
