OK, many people here have fear of this failure, but many probably don't know how to recognize the signs of it.

Let's say I bought a truck from a shady dealer or person , and the VP44 is going "south", is there something we can do to find out ?

If there's no codes, fuel pressure is good, etc.

The best way to tell is take your wallet and rub it on the pump , if it jumps out of your hand and starts running down the road ya got a bad pump there. I think dead pedle , code 216 , hard starts , are some signs.

Check the fuel pressure anything under 5 psi and it will be just a matter of time anything over 5 and you should be ok for a long time and keep an eye on the pressure.

If you drive it down the road and it acts like you turned the key off and back on real quick dooms day is soon to come. This was my warning and I saw it coming.
