Re:types of fuel pressure gages

You will get responses from all sides on this as it is a personal preference.

I'm using an Isspro EV series mechanical gauge installed on the dash plumbed with high quality stainless steel braided line.
It's simple, and there are no senders to go bad.

Others prefer electronic gauges to avoid the "fuel in the cockpit" scenerio.
Then you'll get into digital vs analog ie number readout vs needle sweep.

Then you'll have the where to mount it question.

Check out a few trucks at your next get together and see what works for you.

Mine came from www.wildcatdiesel.com

What ShovelHead said. I run like he does (I think). Isspro Marine gauge in cubbyhole with 6' SS braided line coming off of the bottom of the fuel filter cannister. No isolator, no noise, no problems. Simple is as simple does. Also got mine from Rod at wildcat. I have heard problems tho with those who put a mechanical gauge on the A pillar with noise. Cubby is the best place. You don't need to look at it all of the time.

racer57,

what do you mean the "cubby hole?" is that the space in the dash?

Yes, that worthless opening in the dash. Eric Buckle or is Buckel makes a really neat plate and he will pre-drill it for you.

What pressures are you looking at between a new filter pressure and when it's time to change due to high pressure due to plugging.

Don't know for sure. There are others out there that run both a pre and post filter and change filter accordingly when there is a noticeable drop in PSI. Prolly around 2psi I'm guessing. Myself, I change mine every 7,500 miles. $12.20 each is cheap insurance as far as I am concerned.

Once you install it, you'll get a feel for what is "Normal" on your truck.
If you see pressures drop off too much, change the filter.
