Two 24v Power Comparasion
Ok so we've got this 01 24valve, we put a holley pump on it and later an Edge drag comp, everyth else is stock!
Then we have a 98 24valve also, where we put another Edge drag comp on,
Else stock!
We simply street raced the other day, and the 98 is a bit faster turning off the comp (map sensor unplugged) and the 01 with comp turned off (map sensor plugged in)
but having both on level 5x5 the 98 looses big time!
The 98 only keeps up, having the 01's comp on level 2
Now the question: Is the 98's inj pump going bad? I've got lost of power a few times driving in OD on the highway, kinda like dead pedal you call it i think... truck starts great! fuel pressure: 7 psi min!

Possible, could be a bad connection or ground also. Do you have boost gauges on both, do they make the same boost at least 32-35 psi?
There could be many things causing the difference, all trucks ar different.
What trannys are in them if it 2 autos they can be the problems.

plus, a 98 (with auto) has 215hp. an 01 has 235-245hp (i think). not much diffrence in hp, but the base ecm program paramaters could be way diffrent between the two

I can see the 01 lagging in stock trim, because of the torque management programs installed when dodge went to 235 hp. First and second gear slips the torque converter bad.

98 215HP stock auto (no boost gauge on it)
01 235HP stock auto makes 30 psi at most (IIRC) (thats with a plugged W/G)
I know street race is not a good comparasion, but you can really feel how much slower the 98 is, specially in OD at WOT)
Another thing: Tapping the injector pump comp-wire on the 98 made no difference in power, nor in smoke! so We soldered it, still the same thing!
i'm not really concerned about the power! i'm affraid of the pump, and i'm considering a Hot Rod, how much $ are they?
