thinking of putting a set of mpi compounds on my stock 05 ctd,from what i have read this will lower my egt"s when towing (11,000 lbs generators),main question is how much HP will i gain with this set up? also, what would be the best set up stocker over s300 or 400? Want to be in the 500 to 550 range when on 4 or 5 with the edge juice,(not towing of course) ,would it be wise to get the hot unlock for that little xtra.trany and torque convertor mods will also be done.

Probably not much hp gain using the same fueling. Stocker over an S400 is your best bet.

You will be able to keep your egt's in check w/twins, and some hp/tq will be noticed, but the compounds by themselves are not going to produce a large gain in hp/tq without heavier fueling.

Actually they should produce somewhat of a change. A buddy of mine with stock injectors and a 62/71/13ss with a S-480 setup was running a few car lengths behind my truck when my truck was running 12.4's. Spool up was decent, but he had a MP-8 and Smarty TNT/r.

JJ and FORD, thanks for the info,would really like for someone who has done this to chime in and give me some true #s ,my truck just has the edge w/a ,and like to be as close as possible to my posted HP range,what do you guys think it would take to get close or spot on?

With just the juice attitude and twins you will be quite a bit short of 500-550. Probably in the 400 430 range? (Attitude on all the stock trucks ive seen was right around 400hp) Some small injectors an and a stocker 400 is a great setup that should put you right around 550. My brother did 554 with 45% extrude hone injectors, a silver 62 turbo and a quad adrenaline on power level 7, level 8 was 491. He needs a upgraded injection pump.

i don't get it if i can get 522 horse out of just a stock turbo, stock sticks, stock cp3 then why can he only get 400 horse out of stocker/s400 set up. I know that edge is not the best but c-mon guys it will do better then that. I'm working on an s362 over a s400 and lookin to get 700 out of it, and i'm sure i can. My good geuss with the edge would be right around 550-575 horse

dd04,that is confusing to me also,have been reading post awhile back that totally stock 05"s are making between 260 to 280 RWHP,and IF the edge can make a true 100 HP to the wheels(according to edge) then that would put me at around 380(correct me if im wrong please),then with twins around?

i would get the stocker over s400 with an arson 2 or maybe 3 and a 75 horse injector from edge while there still cheap and you will be at least 575 horse. Does edge attitude do pressure?

If your making 260-280 on a stock truck then add 100hp with the edge will bump you to the obvious 360-380 range. The reason they are saying you aren't going to see huge gains out of adding twins to the setup is because you are not extremely over fueling or for that matter really over fueling what the stock turbo is capable of. There for you will be running much cooler and efficient but your edge isn't adding so much fuel that you will see huge gains with just adding twins. Hope that some how helped ya out!

Poindeter, just a thought the hot unlock for your year truck is 180hp and 440 torque, that should get you closer to the numbers your wanting.

Diesel World magazine did just that a couple issues ago. They added ATS's Aurora Plus twins that use the stock turbo. They used the version that adds an A4000 as the primary. That was their only change.

The article said they netted 40hp on a dyno. The big thing was that the owner could not get the EGT over 1100 degrees pre turbo. He was having high EGT's loaded and the twins allowed him to use all the power he had.

It was a decent article.

The next month they added an Edge box, exhaust and intake air horn.

Edge adds pressure only on the triple nickel motors. You stack a pressure box on the 600s and get a nice gain.

If you want twins to run with the Juice/Attitude you would be better off just dumping the Juice/Attitude and getting a Smarty. The juice dosen't add much timimg but it does add alot of duration and that is not very usable. My suggestion would be to spend that money on your auto tranny. (I assume you have an auto cause it not in your signature.)
