Sence I cant get over 3200 and it runs rough! I know that its not my timeing! I have had that checked 3 times and its dead on! I have heard that it might be my delivery valves or my supply pump! Yes the price is $2000 or best offer and that includes both turbos... I'm trying to sell them quickly and I think I have more than a fair price on them.

Horace

Ok I need to know what turbo to get as my #2 and the rest I think I can figure out! What is the best one to get? Right know I am around 400rwhp and I am getting around 40psi of boost I want to be able to get around 80-90psi but still be able to turn it down to 55-60 un tell I can get my head work done! So what are good options for a #2 turbo? ???

You will never need 80-90 psi, if you do it would not be streetable and the turbo's would have to be huge to work efficently. Some folks just think that higher number is better, or bigger is better...(it's a guy thing) but they never to the R&D, so I ask you to ask the question at what boost level on any combo does the numbers get so high and the turbo's become so inefficent that the air temp is through the roof. Now you ask how do I know that......autometer air temp guage with recall....tells allot and I have made something like 50 passes in testing, 60-65 is a good number for a street setup. 65-70 is were mine starts going south!

Jim
So that didnt tell me any thing except I dont need that much boost! But how do I setup twins? My bigest thing is how to do the manifold I neet to see a pic of that side of twins all the pics I have seen are of the left side and I need to see the right side! And I need to know what kinda turbo to get? For thoes of you who have twins! Let me know what your #2 is!!!!
Thanks for ya all's time!

My twins are a PDR HX40-16 and a PDR HT3B/26. Shortly I will try a B2 for the bottom turbo. Most people flip their exhaust manifolds over to raise the upper turbo and provide room for the big turbo.

BTW High boost is only good if the turbos are running efficiently. 80-90psi is too high for most twin set-ups out there. You are better off to find out where the peak efficient boost is and keep it below that as Jim Fulmer has mentioned. Not only that but I dynoed 653hp last week and I only see 72psi at the track but my temps are reasonable.

Ok tonight I put a boost gage on and im hitting 38psi I want more! ;D I need to see how the the darn things mount and how to do the oil drain! so far ya all have been very helpful! Thanks for all your help so far!
As far as my truks goes and the way that is is running the only thing I have left to check is my valves and my pump!
The valves will be first to see if they need to be ajusted and then if that dont help it is time to take it in and have the pump gone threw! Darn thing I want to be able to hit 3500rpm+ in 3rd and 4th gear! so far I got it to hit it in 1st and 2nd but not the rest!

Thank You for all your help!!!

Was doing some digging on google looking for where Mark Kendrick is now, and came across this.
For the good old days... BUMP.
Battering Ram, Idaho_CTD, gunracer1, Jim Fulmer, and J.R. Adkins all in one thread. Welcome to 2003.

Why is JR Adkins banned? I have one of his group buy turbos that I am thinking about finally installing on my truck. Anyone have any info on this turbo? I have had it for years.

what gsk's do you have in rig? are they 4k or 3k and you might be floating your valves trying to rev that high... so get some 60 lb valve springs if you wanna rev yer street truck to the moon like that. AND why would you rev it all the way to 3500 in first gear? you can take off fine in sec and you'd prolly only be doin 5 mph at 3500 in first. why you trying to rev that high in the first place? doesnt make sense to me

folks realize this thread started back in 2003 right ?

You know youre gonna need o-rings, studs and exhaust springs for that kind of boost and rpm, right?
Just want to save you a major repair.
