Question TV repair?

Sitting here tonigh watching TV and I hear what sounds like a cricket outside the window a few minutes later my TV turns it self off and will not turn back on. No there was not a Ford comercial on at the time . Any way it is a Samsung Tantus dynaflat hd. TV is around 3 years old. I was looking for a reset button on it or something and I heard what sounded like a clock Tick Tick Tick. After I unpluged the TV the ticing went away plugged back in tick tick tick. I have turned it off and unplugged it for an hour plugged back in still wont turn on. any suggestions or do I need to go tv shopping .

This is the best way I've found to deal with a misbehaving TV set.

Depending on how much the TV is worth, it might be fixable.

General rule of thumb, if it costs more to diagnose the problem than the TV is worth, it becomes target practice.

A technician could easily spend 2-3 hours tracking down the .25 cent capacitor that took out the whole TV.

$50 bucks an hour wouldn't be unheard of.

once the electronic components start breaking down it's a snowball affair. buy the time one component goes completely it has already put the hurt on something else. this is why most of the chassis is comprised of circuit boards in modular form. you might get away with changing the main problem, be it component or board, but it's a crap shoot. wouldn't you really rather buy a new "BOMBED" one anyway?

I heard once that you can have some fun with those capacitors in there... Make sure to plug it in so it is charged up before you put it out of its misery...

Unless it's a big screen tv, you will probably be able to buy a new one for less than the cost of a service call.
