I have a deck on my 3500 and would like to put LED turn signal lights on. When I hook up the LED lights the turn signals flash rapidly. Is there an aftermarket flasher available that will replace the current flasher and get the right sequence? I could go with some resistors but would prefer the flasher method. The checking I have done locally has not turned up anything.

Scarecrow thanks for the info. I checked their site. I live in Canada and from what I could see there would be a $16 charge for international shipping up here.
I will have to see if there are other things that I could use from them that would spread that cost out.

NAPA has a CMOS flasher that works great with LEDs. You need a timer based flasher relay that is not dependant on the bulb load or you can add load resistors at each bulb with the stock flasher.

Totallyrad, thanks. There are several big truck aftermarket places around here. I had thought about them but didn't get that far when I was in Saskatoon the major center around here.
I did find some resisters at an electrical shop. I told the man what I was trying to do and he "gave" me 2 resistors to try. How are resistors supposed to be wired to get the desired load. I did try to splice one into the turn signal wire. This is a 12 LED light and 3 or 4 of the LED's flashed but not very bright. So obviously that was not the correct way. I looked at the resistor to see if I could tell if one side or the other should go to the switch side vs light side.
I need a short course on wireing with these little do-dads!!!

Well, I'm not having any luck with the napa site now. Apparently they changed something because I can't even search without creating an account.

I actually got mine by taking the stock flasher into the store and matched the pin config with a new one off the rack. These are pretty universal parts. I would imagine most stores would stock it.

Thanks for the ideas. I finally found a flasher for LED's. It is a Grote part from a large truck aftermarket supplier.
