Turbo whine just bought truck

I put this tread in the performance forum oops

i have only had the truck 3 weeks, 06 5.9 mega cab 40,000 miles.

any way engine light went off last week dealer checked it yesterday and found nothing wrong, I got about 10 miles and it went on again?

The only thing that i notice is the turbo whine is seems more noticable all the time and the rpms seem highter 70mph 2200rpm wiith 265 tires.

is this normal

You'd need to post your rear end gears to make more sence of it. My 06 has 3:73s and runs @ about 1800 rpm @ 65/67 mph. Sounds like you may have the 4:10s? Have you checked the turbo housing inlet clamps... may be getting air somewhere other than filtered path. Is everything stock - or are you modified... performance chip or air filter housing & the like? Any of these may contribute to you question.

I run 2000rpm at 70. You gears may be 4.10 if your running a little higher.

Truck is stock, with 3:72 gears, At 70 just at or over 2000 so this seems right from what you guys are running.

since i did pay the dealer $80 to check engine light and it is on again it will be back in monday

thanks

Something easy you could do is check for codes by turning the key on and off 3 times, do not engage starter. On the third cycle, leave the key on. The codes will display in the odometer display or if there is none it will say done. Also do you have any mods done to the truck?
