Turbo Trouble

To all you out there with the Drag Comp, any of yous havin trouble with your turbos and what kind of boost you seein out of the stock turbo with no other fueling enhancements. We were racing a 1500 Gasser chevy and we didn't have full power at all since we always have it on 5X5 so we pull out the durn chevy beat us . Not good. but any how from then on it is REALLY whistleing loud, and when you shut it down it has a real high pitched whistle on what i call spool-down. I dont know what wrong but i hope it can last till the end of the week becuase we are gettin a new PDR HX-40 and DD Super mentals. I was just wondering if we burnt bearings or something but it prolly sounds good out side.

Cody, are you sure you didn't blow a boot off the intercooler or intake? That is kinda what it sounds like to me. I have heard turbos sound like a siren with a boost leak. They do make some strange sounds depending on how much of a leak it is.

I know we dont see as much power and only 28 psi and before we were pushin 40-45 out of it. we have PDR intercoller boots but i think the bottom one that goes ointo intercooler may have came off i will have to check thanks fore that idea.

Yeah, no power and loud turbo, I agree with MnTom. You have a hose loose or other leak in the intake system.
