Turbo Timer Install Help! - NEW PROBLEM!

Curious to know if anyone has installed a Turbo Timer into your CTD's. There's refrences to them in the search, but nobody has really talked about installing them.

Anyways- picked one up over the weekend. I actually had it before in another Turbo'd car i had, but i rediscovered it in a box so it's new to me again Even found the instructions!

Looks like i need to tap into five lines-
Always Hot
Ignition (Key On)
Accessory
Brake
Ground

Brake/Ground/Always Hot are no sweat; what i need help with is the "Acc" and "Ign" wires, specifically where i can find the ones i should tap in to, and what colors they are! I assume just after the ignition column is the best place, but without knowing if they split off before that, or what color they are.....

Thanks for the help!!!

There isn an Acc and Ign wire in the fusebox on the left side. When the door is closed you can't get to the fuses. Take a volt-meter and check for the always hot and the ign wire there. You can run a line out of the fuse (most people discourage this) or look on the back for the color of the wire and follow it from there back to the column.

Another way is to get a probe - it's a screwdriver looking thing with a bulb in the handle and a ground wire. It's got a sharp point that can push between the rubber around the wire without ripping/leaving a hole. Using that to probe a wire, whenever the light goes on it's a 'hot' wire and you can determine which that way as well.

I was hoping others had done an install; probe wires just get to a PITA, and some of them will show hot but won't be going to the ECU harness, etc.

I just might have some useful info for you here its from a BD turbo timer wiring
(96-02) Dodge
Key on power: Location, Ignition Switch harness -BK/OR, Black wire with orange stripe (wire A22) (pin9)

Accessory or Keep Ecm alive: Location, Ignition Switch harness -DB, I think DB means dark blue not dark brown wire,Whatever it is It will be in pin 2
(A21) (pin2)

The ignition switch plug is a 14 pin black connector.

Hope this helps

andy2-
Thanks for the help!!

Now the question is-
I followed the ignition wires down from the column untill they split into about a thousand different harnesses. I only found one black harness- problem is that it's only like 6 pins, so that's obviously not it. Where should i be looking for this connector? I pierced the Blk/Or wire and the Large Dark Blue (there's two) looking for 12v when the key was on. The Dk Blue wire shows 12v when in the "on" position (2nd click of the key), and the blk/or shows nothing in any of the positions or when starting.
Any thoughts?

I don't know where this pulg is either,However as long as you've found the keep alive wire(DB,A21,pin2)then you can just verify its the correct one by supplying 12v to it with the engine running then if you turn the key off the engine should keep running until you disconnect your keep alive power wire.As for the key on power you could just use the inside fuse compartment for that,As they are all powered through the ignition switch. You might be able to find one fuse holder that is not used but still has one power feed female terminal in its spot so you could just slide a male terminal in it and your done.If not you could just tap into another existing fuse for switched power just select a fuse/circuit thats the least important and use the power feed thats supplying the fuse that way it will not affect the existing circuit.you can get a fuse douber thing that can even be used to power up another circut. You can get one from walmart.

I think this makes sense anyways

ALRIGHT-
So, I finally got it somewhat setup, but now i'm having a new issue-
The Turbo Timer is pulling enough amps to blow fuses left and right. I hooked it up to the battery with and inline fuse and it's blowing 40ampers no problem

It did work once though for about 3 seconds before i toasted the fuse, so i'm almost positive i got the right wire combo- Dark Blue and Black/Orange. There's no shorting in wiring or anything like that.

Any thoughts?!?
