Is this from turbo shutter?

I was cleaning my air filter and is saw that my fins where damaged. Was wondering if this is from turbo shutter or does this look like something got in there and caused this. Turbo spins fine with no play? please chime in and let me know what you think. Thanks

i dont know if turbo shudder would/could cause that, to me it looks like something got in there and thats what did the damage... check for any opening in your intake system that would let something though that would be my 1st step atleast. good luck hope you find you problem and get it fixed.

What kind of air filter are you running? If stock, check for leakage. If aftermarket oiled gauze, you've discovered why I recommend against them..

That ain't even bad, but if you do have air leaks/foreign debris entering the intake, you better get it stopped before you have real damage.

If it were my truck, I'd run it without a second thought, I've seen much worse hold up for thousands of miles.

checked my air filter looks ok. not sure what or when something got in there. I dont know if you can see it in the picture but there is a grove that was created by what ever it was. I found a piece of aluminum inside the air filter last time but didnt take off the intake tube to investigate that must of been what caused it. seems to run Ok.

If your really concerned about crack initiation and propagation on the wheel you can dismantle a few things and take some time to carefully dress/blend the leading edges; but I'm with klx650a2, just run it.

That is classic damage from dirt, is that filter you have simular to a K & N, if it is throw it in the bush and install a BAHF.
