My Dad has a 92 CTD and I'm putting twins on my 02 CTD. would my stock hx35 fit on his 92? if no, could you share why?
thanks
Scotty.

everything would work except the downpipe connection, your hx35 has a cast exhaust elbow that is different than the 1st gens.

would a custom down pipe make it work?

ya, or you might just be able to modify the stock downpipe from your 2nd gen, or just modify the 1st gen downpipe and weld an hx35 flange to it.

You could also just replace the backing plate on the turbine housing with an earlier style for the v-band clamp. Everything else should work fine.

hhmmm, the turbo on his truck has a 14cm wastegated housing on it. I will have to look and see if it might bolt up. He was looking at doing a new exhaust. might just have a new down pipe made.

Simply remove your 12cm housing and bolt up your hx35 to his 14cm housing on the truck.

Just cut the flange off the downpipe...install the turbo...cut the downpipe the needed amount to clear the firewall and then weld the flange back on the downpipe.

For a 2002 truck, that won't work. They don't use the v-band style clamp like the earlier trucks.
The best plan would be as bgilbert said, just swap the 14cm from his turbo onto the HX35.
