turbo problems

my truck is smoking at idle , white, grayish color smells like oil . truck runs fine , check end shaft on intake side can move up and down enough to make it bang , could i have a bad seal on the exhaust side and thats what is causing my smoke .

Sounds like you have a bad bearing if you can move the shaft. The bearing probably went out and took the seal with it.
