Turbo money has arrived............

Now which one to get??????? I'm only gonna run a single. I don't pull/haul alot of weight. Only 5k (car and trailer). Never gonna do any sled pulling and maybe once a year race at the track but do play around alot on the streets. What should I be looking for ? Mods in sig. also gonna purchase a 3 piece manifold with the turbo.

I would do either a HTT 62/71/13ss or an Industrial Injection Silver 62. They are the latest an greatest in turbos.
You have the fuel, you just need the air.

I'd address the head and it's gasket before running either of those turbos with all of your fuel. What is your timing set to? Better set up a sinking fund to pay for some head work in about a month or two.

I don't have any first hand experience, I'm just a robot that repeats what I read.

i would look into a silver 62 or a super phat shaft 62. i had a sps62 and with a set of injectors and a wire tap box you can turn it down and it tows great. or set it on kill and show them powerstroke guys you mean buisness

So you think that a silver 62 would be fine right now and if I decide to go the twin route I could use it there also?

If your going to go twins later, just do a SPS62 and save some money. The SPS62 is a 62/71/14, and the silver62 is a 62/74/14.

I'm saying a Silver would be the best version to have for twins, but as a single it's pretty laggy. You'll find yourself driving more aggressively than normal trying to get it to make boost as a single. You'll also have a tougher time with smoke control.

The big turbine that is a huge asset with twins is a liability as a single for that compressor size. On a bigger 66 compressor, it works well, but it's too much for the smaller 62. While it's more efficient on the 62 than the smaller turbine, the operating range is probably less than optimal for street.

That big turbine will want to be performing at or near WOT a lot. It will excel there. But if you don't spend a lot of time there, a smaller turbine will work better-- but be marginally less efficient.

If you go to HTTs web site I think it says its hp range is 500-575hp. This turbo for as big as it is worked really good on the street and towing. It might even work better on a 12valve.

With that much fuel being pumped through your motor, i would go with the ss62/71/13, unless your planning on twins down the road, then go with the silver. The 62/71/13 should flow really well, and perform really well by itself, even with that much fuel. But either way, plan on head work. The stock hg is only good for so much boost, and even thicker gaskets have their limits, so it might be in your best intrests to plan on having the $$ for the head in your near future. Or save up the money, and get everything done at one time, and then you'll be able to take full advantage of the turbo the first time out, and not have to worry about the hg blowing out. Just my $.02
