I was wondering if different turbo housing's, inlet and exhaust, will effect fuel milage,,
I realize that the smaller the exhaust housing,will make the turbo spool earlier,But you don't want to go to small.
I was also thinking if the Inlet housing larger (wider) Maybe let more air in??
I have two different size housings might experiment with them.
With the price of this Liquid GOLD I am putting In my tank ,I would like to get all I can out of my stock truck

I would like to hear from some Turbo Guru's,,

1st Fill up since I changed Housings,, I have gained 3 MPG's GREAT,, Back to the 19 in City that I had before I changed the Engine. I have put the stock intake and exhaust housings back on the new turbine from the bus engine I have just installed,,,, Much Happier,,, Now for a trip on the highway to see if I can get that 22MPG's I used to get before engine swap.... KEWL,,,

I went back to the stock Turbo housing's whatever the stock housing size is on a 1998.5 24 Valve. I know the one I took off from the bus was way smaller (exhaust Housing), It would spool up real quick But loose it on the higher rpm great for towing. I purchased a Commercial Cummins 24 Valve engine from a 30 Passenger bus that had burned up,,The engine was not touched in the fire and only had 8525 miles on it (For $2,323.49),so I used the bus turbo and my Mileage SUCKED 15-16 at the most Per gallon,, SO what I did last weekend was install my housings from my stock Turbo and WahLah back to 19 MPG's City and around 21 MPG's Highway. So I will be selling the other turbo with the Bus Housings on it.

Pretty hard to do better (mileage wise) than a factory stock turbo, designed for a road CTD, when the rest of the truck is stock also.
Leave everything else stock (injectors, fueling, etc) and enlarge only the turbine housing.... you will send unburned fuel into the air as smoke. Enlarge only the compressor side... slower spoolup and again...likely to have more smoke.
Matching turbines with compressors is an art, IMO, and usually targets a very specific power level and bandwidth.
