what do you measure on a turbo to know the housing size? like when people say they have a 14cm housing? where are they measuring at?

If the turbo is off the truck.. Look it the housing where the exhaust manifold bolts to the turbo and there should be a 12 or 14 etc stamped on the inner wall.

That only applies to Holset turbos. Borg Warner/Garrett, go by part number.

They also use the AR- area/radius ratio, which can vary all over the place. One wheel and radius gives a ratio but change the radius and the ratio is different even with the same wheel....clear as mud to me.

I'm not sure where it's being measured but 14 square centimeters of area is something you can kinda understand.

Ok I found the number on the inside wall and it is a 26, I'm gonna look at my charger that I was running last year and see what it is, it's a lot smaller housing but it was custom built so I will prol have to call them to find out. Is that 26 to big? What are the s480's?

I ran a BTH-3B that was a 26cm housing. It worked pretty nice. What you using for a secondary turbo?

Well I was gonna try it by itself, I ran a 66mm charger last year, and I could use a lot bigger charger. I wanted to try running my 66 with an s480sx but I got this bht-3b for 300 and it's never been used, but it's really only 75mm but the housings are huge!! Compared to my 66.

It will work, I want to back up here. How is the truck set-up? How much fuel you running? Power goals. You might be able to go smaller on the secondary like a 64 and use the BTH-3B. The BTH-3B is a large frame turbo, aka T-06 turbine inlet and 5in outlet. The compressor housing is very large as well. The 66 is rated around 80 lbs/min and the BTH-3b is around 100 lbs/min area. The 3B turbo has been in truck that have made 700-800rwhp. You could even use a S362 turbo as well, just put in a larger external gate like a 44mm to 50mm. The 66/3B combo, will be doggy to spool, but once it lights, wow, you'll have tons of air. I've run the 3b in HX40/BTH-3b and a garrett GT3782R/BTH-3b combo.

My pump should be flowing 600cc of fuel, I have an air dog to go with it to back it up. My injectors I'm not sure about I bought them from a guy and they are five holes, I think he said at .015
with the single charger last I should of made over 700hp, but I never got any dyno numbers, just opinions from others at the pulls. Do I have enough fuel to do a twin combo with my 66, and bth-3b? I could sell my 66 and get a good 64
