Turbine housing
Well I just got my 16cm housing in the mail today. First off, all you guys are great. I bought it from a fellow member on here and it was great. Thats the easiest used parts transaction I have ever had and it wasnt even in person. This place is wonderful I cannot express my gratitude enough.
Now... I cant wait to install this thing which will happen this weekend along with a shift kit. I'll let you know how it runs. Then Ill put the Denny T in! One mod at a time!!
Again, Thank you all!!

Lol I do... When my uncle doesnt have a project... Most of the work I do is outside in the street...
So Ive been thinkng about this any other tips for removing this housing? I basically have to pull the turbo, separate the housing and reinstall correct? anything I should watch out for? I know my turbo has a little shaft play but nothing major. I will rebuild it this spring just for the learning of it but otherwise it seems fairly straight forward.

Yeah, don't try to drive the housing OFF the turbo at first. Just lay the turbo on the floor on top of a sheet of plywood and beat on the exhaust housing with a big hammer. Beat on it hard, you are trying to shake it loose. Keep checking to see if it has moved any. Once it moves, find a smaller hammer and start tapping the housing off while constantly checking to make sure the shaft spins so you know you're keeping it straight.

Okay good, another question... have any of you found a exhaust flange gasket locally??? My guy at napa cant find the gasket separately. He does have, however, a complete head gasket kit with valve cover gaskets, intake gasket, exhaust manifold and outlet flange gasket from felpro for 70 bucks. Has anybody had problems with felpro head gaskets?? I know you guys generally say cummins for all the gaskets. Just curious. Thanks in advance, if I can find the gasket I'll be doing the housing this weekend!

I reuse the old gasket. Eventually I will replace it but right now it is holding up.
If you can get a rebuild kit for your turbo before going into the exhaust housing it would be a good idea. Getting the thing apart is the hardest part of the rebuild and it really won't add much time to the project. I got my kit off Ebay. It was a complete kit with bearings, seals, and hardware. It doesn't take long for the exhaust housing and the cartridge to rust back solid again.
