Tuner help

There are so many options on tuners and stacking tuners etc... I have a stock 2006 2500 qc 4x4 I don't have any tranny work done and I don't want to until this trans blows, which I'm trying to avoid with alot of added power. So what would you guys suggest. I ran a diablo in my 04 F-150 and it never seemed to bother the truck, I was thinking about doing a Diablo Predator with a power puck I'd leave the predator on performance economy tune and always have the option of hitting that switch on the dash to get more power when I want it. I also like the way the edge and bully dog stay in the truck and can be mounted on the a pillar for instant tuning. I've heard negatives about all three just looking for some honest opinions.
Thanks
-Eric

Modules and programmers are a totaly different monster from gas to diesel. The tuner you had in the F150 made, MAYBE 15hp, a Diablo programmer can make 160hp on a Cummins. You wont even feel 15hp, but 160 will tear stuff up. If you want a better chance of your truck not breaking leave it stock. If you mod it, you increase the chance of it breaking. It also depends how you drive it, and how much power you add.

You say you want to stack a module and programmer on a stock truck..... That will put you in the tranny shop really quick. I say get youself a little module and you will see what real power feels like, IN A DIESEL!

Keep reading on these forums, you will save yourself ALOT of money learning from our mistakes.

Yea I'm finding play if you want to pay policy applies in every case. I might just get the diablo predator due to the fact that you can achieve more fuel mileage with the performance economy mode. Now antoher question I thought of should I get guages or an outlook monitor type deal? Would the monitor be worth it if Im not running a BD product?
Thanks
Eric

I am running the Bully Tripple Dg with the Outlook Monitor. I like the increase power and with the Outlook I can change the power setting on the fly with the flip of a switch. I also like the flexability of what I can display on the monitor.
This is my first Diesel and I have not tried any of the other programmers, but I know I get enough out of this one so I can break parts if I am not careful.

Go with the diablo stack you cant beat $380 for 230rwhp. Ive had the BD triple dog and its good but the diablo now has the on the fly mode so its even better. The outlook monitor actually in a accidental study by ddp found that it cuts power by 30rwhp when in use however when unpluged you gain back that 30rwhp. Go with the commander by van aaken or quadzilla or even the BD x monitor which i really like for digital type guages or diprocals for manual guages.

If you don't want to have to do anything else to the truck, the Quadzilla xzt for 65hp is the best choice in my opinion. It is safe and reliable. And no fiddling around. You plug it in and leave it alone.
