So being poor like I am I still want 37" tires. I cant decide on a tire yet but thats not what this post is about. Suspenson lifts are expensive I found this though. http://www.suspensionconnection.com/...on/359204.html It uses almost all blocks and spacers. Not a real fan of that though. It also dosent drop the 4 controll arms. Dosent have extended break lines either. What do you people think of it.

Didn't we visit this issue last week? It sounds awful familiar....

I have a 4.5" lift and the brake lines are plenty long enough. There's only one vendor I have found who makes after market brake lines, and they're pretty steep.

Look at the Skyjacker non-flex kit, the one without the Heim joints. The Class 1 standard kit is about $950, comes with replacement coils and control arms. I run 37's with a Skyjacker 4.5" lift, no problems with brake lines or anything else.

Be prepared to replace the track bar within a couple months. The kit comes with a drop down bracket for the track bar, but the bar will suffer from the same problem as stock. I got the Skyjacker adjustable track bar for about $150 less than a DT, works great so far.

Check out rocky mountain suspension products and 4 Wheel Parts Wholesalers....they usually have pretty good prices and 4WPW runs specials all the time....

I know we discussed it allready. But for one thing I cant afford 950$. Also I didnt know if the extra .5" would be trouble for the break lines. My main question though was. is this kit crap?

I'd go with it.

Being that I have the Syjacker 4.5 I can speak from experience.

Very harsh ride.
I gained at least 5 inches with it.
Did I mention the ride is very harsh?
(think 1970's trucks with leaf springs all around)

Since the TC lift uses the original coil springs, the ride will be much smoother.
It uses slightly longer control arms than the Skyjacker kit, so you'll be able to fit 37's no prob.
I can't fit 37's with my Skyjacker, mainly due to the shorter arms.

Thats good enough. I think ill give it a wherl. After all if I dont like it I can get those custom coils you menteniond for the front and a few billion people make new leaf packs for the back. The whole tough cuntry kit is about the price of a front box kit from other brands.

Well it appears that this lift is 5"/3" it looks like it comes with an ad-a-leaf and maybe blocks for the rear? If I keep my current 2" skyjacker ad-a-leaf in the back and add all their junk will I get close to 5" rear?

Sounds like it will level the truck right up.

The trucks I've seen with the 5" TC look pretty dead on level, maybe 1/2" higher in the rear.

The block's more than likely aren't much taller than the factory block, but have an "angle" to turn the rear pinion up a bit to lessen the driveshaft angle.

It looks identical to the Skyjacker kit, except the skyjacker has new front coils instead of the spacers, and shims for the factory blocks instead of new blocks.

Figuring the 2" leveling kits only lift the front 2 inches and get it closer to level,
the 5"/3" most likely does the same.
5" in front, 3" in back (more than likely its 5/2, just exagerated for effect)

I have a Tuff Country 5" sitting in the garage, just waitin' on my tires to get here. It appears to be a very good setup, I got it because I didn't want to change my springs up front. Not really looking forward to man-handling those front coils, but we pay to play! The kit is powder-coated black to, not just cheap rattle can black. Looks sharp! By the way, if anybody has any tips or tricks to installing these please let me know! Justin

Soaking all nuts & bolts etc. a couple of days ahead with penetrating oil should make the job much easier.

my 2 inch used spacers and ad-a leafs. To get the front spacers in I had to jack up the truck and use a bottle jack to force the one open more. I also had to use spring compressors. For the ad-a-leaf I used huge c-clamps combined with some 3/4" after market ubolts to clamp that pack down. I stil bent the c-clamps up. I guess I need heavyer ones.

i just installed a five incher on my truck and it looks great, as for installing me and my buddy put it on in about 7 hours not really difficult just time consuming. one thing you will want to have is a pitman arm puller cause taking mine off was a nightmare > but other than that good luck

Put your jack stands right behind the control arm mounts. Use cribbing to get the height that you need. Remove the front wheels, sway bar links, track bar and shocks, then drop the front axle with a floor jack. I did my 4.5" this way and I didn't need spring compressors, bottle jacks, pry bars or hammers.

Watch the brake lines and 4WD vacuum connections, you might have to D/C those as well. Once the springs or spacers are in, jack the axle back up and reconnect everything.

If you are doing control arms as well, loosen all the control arm bolts and then do one side at a time. Keeps the axle from rolling/shifting......

Make sure you get it aligned when you're done. I can just about guarantee the caster and toe will be off. Download the alignment specs off of Dave Fritz's site. If I remember correctly, left to right, 3.2/3.5* caster, .3 cross caster, neutral toe. Dodge sets a wide range for acceptable specs, so make sure your shop sets it up exactly as you specify.
Don't worry too much about camber unless you're way out, more than say .2-.3.
This will prevent or cure the dreaded "Death Wobble".
