TST w/ pres.?

How does the TST with preassure compare to say the ez, xzt, mp-8? Does it feel as strong and is it as useable? Is it adjustable or is it set to a certain amount?

Has 9 levels but 8 and 9 and maybe even 7 will blow your relief valve.

I like my mp8 better than the tst pressure. The tst pressure is more violent (sop) and is much, much more trouble to adjust as you drive if needed.

My truck just feels more pleasant with the mp8, and word on the street is (I havent proven it, this is just hearsay) the tst/mp8 combo will make more power than just the tst its own pressure.

Thanks wap. I heard that the mp-8 is the best for dyno but the quad was easiest to drive and more streetable. I dont think that I need 100 hp from preassure since I still have stock sticks but I dont really know what is to much and what isnt. I suppose I could just get the TST that has it and turn it off if I want.

Not to highjack my own thread but can I hook up the TST up with my edge and just leave the edge in a passive no power state? I have the pillar mount (yours) on the edge and still like a couple of the features and just for playin around with the 1/4 mile times thing once in a while. I guess the only question I had was if the plugs would just plug in without having to cut wires. I like to have the ability to try different settings and boxes just to try different combos.

I realize that until I stud/turbo/cam the truck im still just playin the box of the month game but I just like to screw around.

I cant help ya on the edge question, I have no idea how that would work.

FWIW, I used to keep my mp8 off, 95% of the time. Now with the SPS66 I keep it on about 25% or less for daily driving. I would think a quad (minius timing) or an EZ would give you similar results to an mp8. There is nothing "wrong" with the tst pressure, I just like the way my truck drives with the mp8 better and I have the **** right by my steering wheel and can adjust my rp at will. Also on leve 3 of the tst pressure I was able to hit the 27,500 psi limit on the guage, but if you have pressure on your tst you have the rail guage. However I like my analog style rail guage better too, but thats a whole nother thread.

I have found the EZ pressure much better as well. When I got the new TST I dropped the EZ, but I just couldn't get the pressure dialed in well. Very peaky, even down at levels 2-3, nothing and then lots with little in between. It seemed to drain my rail quicker too with this delivery, tougher time keeping the pressure up WOT. Went back to the EZ and never looked back.

You hit the nail on the head. "Peaky" is a perfect description of the tst pressure. The rp of the tst falls right in line with the tst in general imo. Not a whole lot down low, but when it hits, it hits hard.

Thats good info. I think Im gonna go with the mp-8 now becouse I want the ability to switch it off. I suppose if I wanted the xzt I could wire up a switch but its not real easy and you have no control how much.

97 had me talked into the xzt for the way it drives but I just cant get over the ability to adjust as I choose.

Funny i should read this.

im experimenting again, thats why my sig is blank. definitely module/programmer of the month game for me, more like week.

TST pressure is responsive! switching between 2 and 3 i can feel the throttle difference on take off. im running my TST pressure on level 2...but im having a hard time keeping my rail happy. (dipricol rail gauge and TST rail gauge are about 3k off?!)

Quad has been playing with my XZT for a Bullydog stack....but i don't have the Bullydog anymore. However, we are still experimenting. need to solve the problem for future customers. I hope to have my XZT back soon! im missing it.

Hey man I did try the xzt but mine was problematic. I sent it back to the guy even though Quad was gacious enough to fix it knowing that I bought it used but the seller just seemed too eager to get it back. I truly appreciate the seller but it just didnt seem right.

I would like the chance to try one again but I just wish the xzt went in stages or was more adjustable. Its truly to bad that TS is the only one that can see that thats what the customers want. I do understand that if I wanted the commander that would allow me adjustability on some level but it still seems that all of the boxes give you there own little gauge screen thats digital(albeit not that great) and

Another thing about the tst pressure,

I have not really experimented with it, but the way it drives the mp8 comes on sooner and smoother than the tst, so it stands to reason that MAYBE it could keep your rail happier longer. Not to say the quad wont to do the same, but thats just my thought prosses on why a seperate pressure box MIGHT keep up with the rail a little better.

I run the XZT minus timing w/Diablo and it is very smooth and responsive. I just unplug it before I start truck if I don't want the added pressure. When it's on, you can really feel it starting from idle on up. Pulls much, much better than without. XZT is really a mild pressure box and I don't have anything else to compare it with, but it feels good sotp.
