Well TST is a really aggressive unit with only a Arson II kit probably is draining the rail, somebody will chime in here with more experience with the TST.

When you describe the "popping" that is a sure sign of rail draining. You don't say what version of TST you have, but you should have a RP guage on there (mine does) and you can watch to see if you are draining the rail. If so, it is time to mod the cp3 and get a better flowing lift pump.

But then you mention it died on you at a stop... I have to wonder if you have something else going on with fuel supply that is not normal or maybe a sensor problem. Have you thrown any codes?

yeah its thrown some codes but think the only fuel related one was somethin about high pressure common rail somethin i dont remember for sure, as fars as the lift pump i should be fine i would think? with the 150 FASS? and yeah the rail is for sure draining it drops down toi like 9 10 11k... but im still thinkin there may be another issue

this may be a stupid question but does anybody run just the tst wide open? or will a single cp3 even support it? tst claims 190hp on a basically stock truck but i just done see how...

Not many do or could run with a TST turned all the way up. I can run 7/4 on my mods with either of the twins programs and some pressure. But anything else is just too much. I am sure some can run higher, but need a lot of additional supporting mods. Basically stock trucks I would think would be limited to around 5/2 standard program before they started draining rail or getting very HOT.

I ran the Tst alone and was not overly impressed.(dont think I have the mods to back it up)I was running Smarty revo with the TST recently and could not go over 3te/2pwer without having it break up when I mashed it.
I saw a post on here the other day aboutguys with 03/04 trucks being able to run smarty rail pressure at 3 for daily driving. I tried rail 3 and now I can run TST up to like3/4 and when i mash it, truck pulls like crazy.EGTS limit my increasing it anymore than that. In short,I was definitly draining the rail. I would post what my rail pressures are, But I dont have my rail pressure gauge yet
My tst has all the latest programs but my serial number is too low to be able to us the rail pressure settings.
I got way more bang for the buck with the smarty!!

I ran the TST alone for a good while and loved it, still do!!
Ive never had the TQ settings above 3 and always ran the Standard Program.
It is a very agressive unit and with a stock CP3 it will drain the rail in a hurry!
Im gonna be doing the Arson II kit, cause with the Smarty and the TST the poor stocker is getting a work out!
Id say get the arson kit.

i'm running the tst and have the same problem on 7/5, going to twin cp3
s to fix this because i really don't think the arson 2 can keep up with it. might be worht a try for 300 though, because twin turbos are in the future for me upgrading now, and saving the 300 for that.
