Trying to find some relays...

Looking to try and find where my short is coming from off of the #9 fuse.

Anyone know where the fuel heater relay is? Also the Grid Heater relays?

I'm having trouble finding this thing, I have my DMM on audio and have been shaking wires, but haven't found anything yet. Thats part of what makes me think its a busted relay.

Thanks guys.

I know when my grid heaters went out a couple of weeks ago, I was replacing the solenoids and I didnt unhook the battery. I popped the #9 fuse.
I think the relays for the grids are on the firewall. Not %100 sure.

Just went out to the garage and got my 97 FSM.
The Fuel heater relay and fuel shutdown solenoid relay are the two that are mounted on the firewall just to the left of the master cylinder.
The fuel heater relay is the one on the left side (passenger one) and the fuel shutdown solenoid relay is the right side (driver side one).
I am looking for the grid heater relay (if there is one). I think its just the solenoids on the driver fender under the battery. There is two of them. You can just unplug the little wires with the 90* boots on them to disable the grid heaters.

Yep, the only relays for the grid heaters are the one on the driver fender under the battery.
The FSM says:
The intake manifold air heater is controlled through the intake manifold air heater relays. This is done after a specified signal is sent to the PCM from the intake manifold air temp. sensor.
Two heating elements are located within the air heater assembly. A seperate heavyduty cable is connected to a seperate terminal to supply power for each element.

If you need more let me know. I could scan some pages and email them to you.

Thanks dieselman...thats just what I needed, unfortunately, I have cranked this thing so many times the batteries are dead. I have to see if I can unwedge the 99 to jump it...which means trying to roll a 10,000 bushel grain bin to the other side of the shop by myself. The 98's batteries are dead, so I might as well jump that while I'm at it and let it run for a while.

Its not the shutoff solenoid relay, or the fuel heater relay, I pulled those yesterday, at the time I didn't know what the fuel heater relay was, but I pulled it just to make sure that wasn't it.

With the battery dead, even with the fuse in the #9 post, it won't turn my WTS light on, which it did last night. I have a bunch of other fuses pulled as well though.

Can anyone post a picture of the back of the fuse panel cover so I can see whats what? I'd greatly appreciate it since the PO took mine as a souvenir.
