Truck wont run!!!

I have a 94 cummins and i cant get it to start? About three years ago i replaced the fuel transfer pump, heater/strainer, injection pump, and overflow valve. I changed the fuel filter today to see if it had gone bad and the truck ran fine for about 5 minutes and then when the filter ran out of fuel it died. So then i changed the fuel lift pump and filled the filter again with fuel and it ran fine for five minutes until it ran out and died. I checked the fuel shutdown solenoid and its working fine. Im stuck on what else to do, any opinions will help, Thank you.

Have you cracked the injector lines to purge the air from the system?

Again, out of fuel? I've run two out of fuel like that. Bad sending units.... Five minutes though, is a long time to run just on the fuel in the filter?

Well, the only things I can think of would be fuel lines(maybe a dry rot crack just got bigger?), hand pump/lift pump might have a problem, overflow valve maybe. Usually if it will run thirty seconds, mine will go on and stay running. I dont fill the filter, just pump the hand pump real good. Sometimes maybe fifty or more pumps.

I checked all the fuel lines they looked ok no leaks but i will probably end up changing them, lift pump is new and i primed it until my arm went numb(didnt help), i didnt check the overflow so ill make sure to do that also.

Did all this trouble start after you changed the fuel filter this last time? I just don't understand 3 years ago you changed all that stuff and the truck ran good, then 3 years later you thought you would change the fuel filter and you started having trouble, seems to me if the truck was running before you changed the fuel filter this last time that is where I would start looking. All you need is fuel, timming, air, combustion for a diesel to run. If it is indeed running the filter out of fuel you either have a fuel restriction, no fuel at all or your leaking air somewhere. (i.e. the pickup tubes in the tank)

i looked in the tank plenty of fuel, it all started with a small leak from the banjo bolt above the fuel filter. I fixed that then it just got worse. It ran for one day after that before it just completely died. I changed the fuel filter after it failed. I thought it was the lift pump so i changed that again yesterday, still no luck. Also checked the overflow valve this morning and it was ok. This whole problem spans 2 days. First day was the leak above the fuel filter. Second day it ran ok for the day aside from difficult starting and at the end of the day it stopped running altogether.

i know u mentioned the fuel shut off solenoid and said it was working fine but do check it again...check to see that it is staying up and not fallign down prematurely killing the motor...blue wire likes to corrode or fall off leading to it
