Truck Wont Idle...
96 Exe cab 4x4 Long Bed 12v #10 fuel plate.
Started up fine and drove maybe 50ish miles on the express way doing 70+ MPH and came off the highway and it stalled at the light so i try to start it nothing, Give it some fuel and it started right up but i had to keep it running, I tryed adjusting the idle and got it to run but it will only run Smooth in gear, Park or Neutral it will sort of surge anywhere from 500rpm to 2000rpm but if you put it in gear it will hold steady at 800ish RPM.
Any Help is Appreciated
Thanks Russ

Overflow valve problem? Try looking here: Engine Diagnostics You might find something there that helps.

I don't know if this helps or anything but i JUST toped off the tank well 30 gallons of Dyno Diesel and the previous tank was Off Road Diesel. I don't know if that hurt anything or its Hopefully just an overflow problem.

Maybe governor springs? I noticed since I turned mine down a couple clicks that I can't get it to hold between 1100 and 1600 RPMS, it is either lower or higher. Just throwing out ideas here...

Well i messed with it a little this morning and in still can't get it to hold steady Unless i have the idle screw to low and i have to give it some fuel to start thats the only way i can get it to hold at any RPM in gear or in Neutral or Park. Could that be a sign that its the Over Flow or something else?

Well i think i found the problem, I went out and bought some Diesel Clean (Diesel 911) and dumped the whole thing in there went to the gas station and mixed it with maybe 2 gallons of fuel and the Idle doesn't flucksuate(spelling) At ALL anymore. I guess cause of the temps changes around here lately (25 Degrees Currently) that must of done it. Oh well lessoned learned have to add some kind of cleaner or ANTI GEL substance Every time i fill up.
Thanks For Looking
