truck throwing codes/HELP PLEASE!

truck throwing codes/HELP PLEASE!

was driving home from bristol,tn. today and truck started acting up around 60 mph,if i was around that speed for a while and tried to speed up,nothing would happen until i either floored it ,or let up completly on the throttle and pushed on the pedal again. truck is throwing these codes 1693,0216,and 0234.any help would be greatly appreciated THANKS!

sound like dead pedal to me IP probably going south 0216 is the death code for IP from what ive been told Just put one on my dads 02 seems to run fine now good luck

should i put on a factory lp or go aftermarket? can i replace this myself?just hope my injection pump is o.k.!

I would say go aftermarket for sure, that way it will be one less thing to worry about in the future. A fuel pressure gauge is also a must on these trucks. You can replace the lift pump yourself easily, and installing an aftermarket one is almost as easy and can be done by yourself with basic tools.
I am afraid however that you are in for an injection pump replacement as the 0216 almost always indicates a dead VP44.

thats what i was afraid of! bet the wife is gonna luv to here about this bill! should i take it to the dealer for the vp44 or someone else,i`m sure its out of warranty since its a 2002?thanks again

Don't go to the dealership whatever you do. Find a diesel shop close to where you are. You can get a VP44 for around $1200, and many diesel shops will install it for $400 or less; and the job will be done right.

i was just wandering about the dealer,i read somewhere that the engine was warretied for another 100,000 miles after the dodge warrenty was over.THANKS

headed out right after the checkers,but from the sound of the crowd it got pretty interesting,the race was o.k. not the usual bristol,but still worth the drive!except for the fuel problem 30 minutes from the house.waiting to see the replayes on windtunnel tonight!

forgot to tell you guys,this doesn`t do it all the time at that speed,BUT only at that speed,no other speeds,sorry i did not pay attention to rpm`s. THANKS AGAIN GUYS! truck has never thrown a code before today,and i check it alot!

took the truck to a shop co-worker deals with,he checked the pressure at the ip 15# at idle,said it could be a map sensor.he recommended i put a fuel pressure guage on it.truck never acted up today at all,thinking about putting a fass on it and edge juice w/attitude. THANKS for all the help guys!!
