Truck pulleys

I went to the truck pulls at the local county fair tonight. I was pretty disapointed there was one cummins truck 03 05. And 8 dmax trucks. No ford powerstrokes. And almost all of them pulled farther then the cummin. I havnt been to a truck pull in about 2 yrs. But last one i went to the cummins trucks were kickin a$$. What happend? Are they finally able to make more power out of the durapads? Or are there just no big guys around me with a cummins trucks anymore?. One guy was claiming to make 1600-1800 hp with a dmax.

Duramaxes are killing us by being able to run higher RPM. Yes they make good power with the right tuning, and 1600 is quite a bit, but should be possible. I really doubt that is a street driven truck though.

I really believe the Duramax's and Ford's days are numbered for running things at the pulls. The RPM limits EFILive and some other tuners are removing are going to make for some absolutely monster street drivable Cummins pullers.

I love it best when the guys in the Obama Motors Trucks w/ Isuzus come down to the Scheid Diesel Exravaganza and get spanked in the pulls...even better out on the street when you ask them how their rice burner is running! (as you can tell, i'm not a chevey fan)
But jstone44720 is right, until they bing out a EFI LIVE for all Cummins then the boys with the Indiana Engines will have to wait due to having lower RPMs. But those with EFI Live should have no problems (also with the right amount of cash into the motor) spanking the Cheveys.

It does seem that in the last couple of years the Chebbies and the Ferds have gotten their act together. Both seem to have high revving engines which does help out their power while our (Cummins) power comes on early in the rpm range and we're almost limited to roughly 3000-3500 rpms unless we've had some head and valve work done. Don't worry though, their days are numbered and we will again reside on top of the podium.
