Truck Just Died!!!

Gave her some good throttle and then it's like someone shut the key off. I have good fuel pressure, no codes? Checked all fuses under the hood, all good. Checked fuses by drivers door and I got no power to any of those fuses? Thought it might be the VP but seems good. Unhooked chip and went to stock, still the same. Would a bad APPS cause this? HELP!!!!!!!

You say no power to any of the fuses next to the drivers door? Check the fuses under the hood. Maybe one of them took a dump.......

But no power to the dash fuses? Sounds like you have an electrical problem, not a fuel issue. Maybe something to do with the ECM?

maybe some air in the lines or im not really sure i had my truck do the same thing when doin burn outs and it wouldnt start so i cracked all the lines primed my fuel system and cranked and cranked a bunch of air was in my lines. it took a while then i tightened everything a it started.

A bad APPS won't cause loss of power to the in cab accessories box. The box inside the cab gets power from the fuse box under the hood. The box inside controls functions like ignition switch. This is why quad ran a wire to the number 9 fuse inside the cab to control the TT. Are you drawing power from any of the wires coming from the interior fuse panel for things like lights etc? Possibly melted something or killed a relay?

Yea it cant be your APPS my truck had a bad APPS for a while. I just replaced it about a week ago. The first time i found this site was when i was having trouble with my ECM it was acting the same way yours sounds like. I could be wrong. Correct me if i am wrong guys.

That is what I said that I thought it was, but he has no power to the inside fuse box. Kinda makes you think of a wire problem or a bad pcm.

That's what I'm thinking.........A bad relay in the fuse box under the hood.

It has power as soon as you turn the key on and then slowly fades awat at every fuse inside the truck??? I did pressure wash this morning a whole bunch under the hood around the VP44 and the wiring due to a fuel leak on my FASS.

Pressure washing under the hood is ok, IF you keep the high pressure water away from the engine PCM and the top of the VP-44. I don't think water does any good for those areas. Spray some WD-40 in those areas to help displace the water. Maybe even try some electical contact cleaner or even starting fluid (ether).

If you have power at first, but it fades away, That is a relay. When a relay gets shorted or overloaded it kicks power off to prevent the circuit from burning up. I'd start there.

Well, got her going. I switched around a few relays and I bled 3 + 4 and she slowly fired up. You were bang on 99globalwarmer. I don't know which one fixed it though. How in the *** did I get air in the lines. That run was only on 3x3 and Smarty #6. I've pulled way harder than that before multiple times and letting off fast has never caused that before??? What do you guys think.

Good deal. It's always a good feeling when you figure out a major problem. I think maybe a relay went bad, which shut down the VP-44 and the LP, which in turn drained the fuel lines and filled them with air. Maybe...... Just a guess on my part.

I was thinking the same thing. I would test each relay individually on the bench to find it before it finds you later. Glad to see you got it figured out.
