Truck Died Today
So today I was in traffic cruising in third gear about 150 rpms and put it to the floot to pass some one. So I passed them and engaged the clutch at about 1700rpm to make a left turn. Well as the title says, when I engaged the clutch it just died. about 6-7 seconds of cranking and throttle feathering it cranked back up.
When I accelerated I had normal smoke, quite a bit actually. Sadly I didnt recieve my FP gauge install kit when I got it and havn't gotten around to order one yet, which I will probably to today because of this.
What happened?????
My guess is I sucked the VP dry, I hope not but I dont know why else it would just DIE!!!
Any help is appreciated guys
Thanks
Jamie

have you pulled codes yet, the pump will let you know if it died. you need to test the fuel pressure and if it's still has good fuel pressure sometimes those pumps just die(they are junk). but i guess i am biased to the my p-pump . if you let those vp's run dry even for a little while they will damage. you might not see problems right away, but you will see shortened pump life. maybe it's time you came to the dark side and p-pump your truck. you get the best of both worlds, the great reliability and fuel flow ability of the indestructible p7100 along with the high flow head of the 24v. you can't go wrong.

I agree with you on everything but that. Both my dead VPs left no codes?

It doesn't sound good. As stated, check for codes and go from there.
