Truck Cover for outdoor storage - not tonneau cover

I'm looking for an outdoor use cover for my truck.

Usually you can search the threads and find good rec's from people on just about anything, but I can find much.

I'm completely overwhelmed by the options on the internet.

I don't blame you. It took me a long time to learn about them.

OK, one step at a time. First question is, hard cover or soft cover? The hard covers (fiberglass, aluminum, ABS plastic, etc.) provide more security and some of them lock your tailgate when closed, but they are more expensive. The soft covers (vinyl) do not provide security because you can cut them open. However, you may want a soft cover anyway.

Which would you prefer?

I don't think he's talking about a tonneau. Stylin' Concepts has some good ones.

I'm talking about a soft cover...for the Entire truck, for storage. Not a tonneau cover.

That's what I thought. You can also get them from Eastwood. I've been considering one. Just have higher priorities like gauges and a Smarty.

There are many types of breathable fabrics available. The big difference in price between the cheap covers (and tarps) and the good covers is due to the breathable fabrics. Never ever cover a car with a non-breathable cover. Condensation build-up under the cover truck do lots of damage.

I have the max cover from empire its a 3 layer cover made from Tyvek developed by DuPont.

The best, by far, are from California Car Cover.

Good luck,

I have used the Noah model from California Car Covers on several different vehicles. On my dually, it fits great, even has mirror pockets and covers all the way to the bottom of the rockers. I always take off my radio antenna instead of making a hole in the cover. Here in the hot Florida sun, they usually last about three years. I really like the covers from Cal. CC.
