Triple Dog to Smarty...who's done it?

Just looking for input on members who've switched from the Triple Dog to the Smarty. I love my Triple Dog but like the rest of you diesel performance guys....always looking to try something new!

Did you have any issues with switching the programs? Better power? Better MPG? Lower EGTs? Just any input would be great....

Chance

I ran both BDTD and Smarty back and forth for a while. My BDTD worked fine for me, but I just was able to get a little more out of the Smarty on my trucks configuration, so I decided to stay with the Smarty.

Me too. I like them both but for some reason the smarty runs smoother in my truck plus it hasn't thrown any codes.. Each is his own.. Some trucks like one better than the other.

I had a tripple dog with the crazy larry and the smarty pulls way harder throughout the entire power band. The crazy larry falls off quite a bit, but the smarty just keeps on pullin! Both products are great though. I however do like the option with the smarty to control the timing in what maner it does.

edited by admin Life with SMARTY is like a soft warm bed you can count on every day (except for the wild program that is pretty much slappin hippies too).
Plus, needed help last night emailed Bob and he called me 20 minutes later. The BD folks act like they are doing you a favor when you call....
SMARTY all the way

I ran the triple dog on a couple trucks. I have a smarty now and it seems to run better and the throttle is not as sensitive compared to crazy larry. I have never had scary larry but this smokes more than the bd and seems just more all around drivable. but I am fairly pleased with it. the timing is alot and I get alot of rattle-thats the only issue. I am interested to see the hotter programs for the smarty

i just took off my smarty for the triple dog and then went to put back on my smarty and now i cant load my smarty. smarty says unknown software.. i did uninstall the triple and i knwo for fact its off cause when i go to on the fly it says " you must download software" or something to that effect. any idea?? maybe the new version of bully dog crazy larry edition doesnt rewrite the software back to stock ecu that smarty recognizes??

you may need to update your smarty software. The unknown software is due to a new version of stock software being written to your ecm
