Trip to Tacoma
Well we, my wife and I, are on our way. My son should arrive early next week. We left Fort Lee at 4:00 PM and made the first leg of the trip to Youngstown, Ohio in 6 hours, with one stop for food and restroom. All in all, uneventfull smooth, ride. The truck with the gear splitter runs very very nice. Gas mileage is very nice, but a bit premature to assign a number to. Soon.
Tomorrow will be the longest leg of the trip, to Rochester, MN.
If I have a connection at the hotel I will post an update.

Hello All,
We are home again. To be exact, got back Sunday around 6 PM.
It was 6748.8 miles from when we left to when I parked it Sunday. To say the least it was a very interesting trip. We live in an awesome country. Its beauty can hardly be equaled. Even the long miles crossing the great plains left me in awe, if not for the variety of the scenery but for the sheer expanse of it.
On the way there we made a one day stop in Rapid City, SD. Went to see Mount Rushmore, and the Crazy Horse Monument. Both are most impresive. Also had one of the best tasting steaks I ever had, local beef, in Rapid City. Also made a detour to see Devil's Tower in WY. It is a sight to behold. On the way back we stoped for a day ion Mineapolis, MN. It is a very nice place, went to The Mall of America. St. Pauls is nice also.
The truck ran flawlesly, cruising between 80-85 is so smooth you wonder if it is runnning. It does eat more fuel tho. Something for something, I guess. On the way back I received recognition from the North Dakota Highway Patrol in the form of a velocity award.
83 on the interstate, a 75 mph freway. He kindly wrote it to 80, a $25 fine, no point offense. Had a near flat in Tacoma, saw the 1/4" lag lolt embeded in my tire and it still held, so I had it repaired. Crossing the Rockies we were caught in a blizard, had to slow to about 20 mph, for about 10 miles. Other than that the road were just fine, a few construction zones, but nothing major.
Of course Monday I had to get back to work, plies and piles of it, but I am gaining on it, and my home desk top crashed, but I got it up now, just have to reload software.
So much for the trip, it is good to be home, but getting away from it all at times is also good.
