Utah celebrated last night.
Ran out of candy by 9pm.

Can't have people running loose in the streets on Sunday.

No one came by here?! Although for Devil's Night, some friends of mine decided it would be fun to shrink wrap my truck at 5am...

Gave me a good chuckle this morning...

twelve after seven and the door has ring three more times.... one was a 13 or 14 year old girl by herself without a costume. if it wasn't for my 3 1/2 year old daughter wanting to help and give out candy, we would have sent her packing.....

on a side note there Top, what grain bullet works best in a 7mm remington magnum? (since this is my thread I figure I can deviate from the main topic momentarly...)

When loaded with a 140 grain spitzer, the 7mm Remington Magnum is a powerful and flat shooting cartridge, but for all around use on game up to the size of elk and moose the cartridge is seen at its best with a 160 grain bullet loaded to about 3000 fps.

For big game loads, the single best powder for use with all bullets weights is H4831. When loading the heavier bullets, H1000 also does a fine job. In target rifles, faster burning powders such as H4350 and IMR-4350 often produce the best accuracy with match grade bullets.

Thanks for the input, right now I am shooting factory Federal sierra gameking 165Gr boat tails.
I am looking at reloading with hornandy 162 grain boat tails (with some mixture set up by hornandy)
The specs are roughly the same for each load with the hornandy producing slightly less (lighter weight bullet)

You may find that your rifle will shoot better with a little different load. The specs I gave you are pretty well proven loads among 7mm fans.

Nothing beats trial and erro on your own rifle though

We had none. I think my costume, crazed madman with a shotgun, probably scared most of the would be trick-or-treaters away. I saw several moms quickly grab their children and run down the street when they got to my house.

Westcoaster:

As a suggestion, you may want to consider looking at reloading using the Barnes 160 gr. bullet. The seem to retain their weight and mushroom very nicely. I have seen an elk shot with one in 300 mag. where the bullet went through both front quarters and lodged under the skin on the far side, intact, but mushroomed. Very little meat damage. I used to shoot the Hornady 160 gr. but on both elk that I got, the bullet exploded inside the animal producing a lot of meat damage. Go to Barnes web site and have a look.
