Trany strength?
I have some concerns about how much horse power to push thru my automatic transmission on my 1998.5 2500 truck. I have added a 4" exhast system, K&N intake, and Edge Juice to the engine. I'm guessing that I have added only about 75 hp from stock but only 5,000 miles after adding the Juice the troque converter took the bushing out of the trans pump. I had the transmission rebuilt with all stock componants but opted for a high flow trans pump. In addition I had a BD tripple lock torque converter installed to help keep the trans temps down.
I'm not a real aggressive driver in fact I drive my truck with the Juice set to 1x1 most of the time or 2x5 when towing. Any time I have the Juice set to 5x5 I have over drive turned off. My trans temps are much lower with the BD torque converter with my max showing 185. Is this transmission tough enough and I'm just parinoid or should I be looking into something different? I would like to convert it to a 6 speed manuel some day but the later the better.
Thanks for the input,

VB would have been good. But if your only drivin on 1 and 2 it should be just fine.
Id worry a bit if you start rompin on it on 4 or 5. Those stages might make quick work outa your trans.
