Transmission shift controller

I know there are some in development and some already available to help change shift points and such, but what I would like is a controller that you shift the gears at the push of a button. This way you controll rpm, boost, and egt a little more. Would it be possible in a 48re, alot of newer vehicles have this feature, it would be great for towing. How awesome would it be to have a set of paddle shifters on the back of the steering wheel, and total control of your trans.
Possible? Anybody else want one? Anyone hear of anything like this?

I think ATS makes a valve body & controller (not the copilot) kit that more or less does this, minus the paddles.

I remember reading that someone on DTR had this. Maybe abc4yew?

TS performance has a trans controller and Suncoast Transmissions has one as well, both are around $400 bucks

Rye:

"ATS Diesel Performance" makes a "Stand Alone Transmission Controller" which does pretty much everything you describe in your post.

You can go to their website for more information:

There was a post on the ATS Stand Alone controller that said you could set it up to use paddles.....i looked on the ATS site, believe the controller was $1k+....i'd love to have something like that.....if you have the stereo controls on the back of the wteering wheel, you could probably utilize those buttons as paddles.....

I love the idea, but it's going to be for someone with deep pockets....I dont have my transmission yet, if i had that kind of money to spend, i'd get the Suncoast Allison 6spd Conversion kit in lieu of a build 48re with paddles....

Good luck, let us know if you decide to go for it.

Thats what I want but Im not paying $1000+ dollars for it. Their are other cosmetic and go fast parts I can buy for that amount of cake. Plus by the time I by another truck that option will be standard so I'll wait. Heck doesnt the 6.7 have this option standard for automatics?

The TS controller is just a tc lockup box. The ATS Copilot can do ANYTHING. Expensive...but very capible. It can monitor up to 10 or something inputs...custom shift patterns....instructions...etc. The VB is all electronic...not just the top two gears like stock. No more hunting...

You make the converter lock up in every gear above a certain boost or rpm, unlock for shifts...relock again. Stay locked the whole time. Etc Etc Etc.

I wish I had one...and the time to set it up.

If you want the ATS full stand alone, you will also need the VB to go with it. Definately not for the squeemish. I had this on my 05' for a while. You have FULL control over up shifts/down shifts, lockup/unlock, etc. The system is developed by PCS and has a bunch of other trick features. Heres a link to more info.
