Any B series cummins that is in a medium duty truck probably has an SAE #3 bellhousing on it.

With an 8, 9, 10, 13, 15, or 18 speed you also will need an air supply for the range shift and the splitter. I think an 8 speed would be slick for towing.

Not to be rude, but have you ever driven a 9 speed?

I drive a 10 speed Eaton all day, and the LAST thing I want in my Dodge is a big truck trans.

If you are going to go through all that work for a big truck trans then you might as well just put an 18 speed in it that way you will have all kinds of ratios at your finger tips.

Or you could just get a Gear Vendors and split every gear.....and have double o/d. and have the low to pull a house off it's foundation

I think you need to run a body lift to make it if also if I am not mistaken.

Correct. The SAE housing is round and deeper than the adapter plate and bellhousing used on the Getrag. You can modify the floor but would also have to modify the heater/AC box due to interference. You would need everything between the bare back of the engine block and the driveshaft yoke from the donor medium duty truck. Your transmission mounting would require modification or you could use the side mounts from the SAE housing by modifying the frame. Then you still have the clutch slave cylinder to deal with. For the overall cost, time, and aggravations it would be easier and more cost effective to rebuild what you already have a couple of times in relationship to what it would end up costing. You also end up with a truck that has a decreased trade in or resale value because it has a transmission that not everybody wants or can drive.
