Transmission Linkage?

How does this work in conjunction with the throttle cable? I am wondering if it is possible to disconnect the transmission linkage from the throttle linkage and leave it in fixed position. I want the throttle cable to be independent of the transmission cable. Any info or ideas are appreciated.

It raises throttle pressure in the trans with throttle travel. It's not a good idea to disconnect it.

You couldn't just set it to the maximum it goes? Would that cause to much pressure at less throttle?

You'd have late shifts.

Would that be the only side effect?

Pretty much. The shifts would also be very firm at light throttle.
