Transmission fluid change

This is the first change after have it rebuilt with DG triple disk converter with drain. IT took 7qts for just pan and 9qts for tc and this with stock pan. The pan was really clean and the magnet about a 64th film. Here are some photos after 21,000 miles and they were 95% towing a 11,000 lb fiver with some 6* hills. 21,000 miles wow! Goerend told me run her for 1500 - 2000 miles then do my first fluid change. Hopefully then Goerend will have his double deep pan ready to sell... Whose transmission are you running?

It was rebuilt by dealer with DJ's upgrades and his converter with drain plug. Why would you need to do a fluid change at such low miles.

it is what Dave Goerend recommended for the very first fluid change, then go 20,000 between changes...Dave is more of a SME (subject matter expert) on this than I...

I guess all it is how long you let it drain,if the transmission is warm or cold and if the drain back value is working ok.

Drain back valve? Aha! I bet I have some problem then... After I take the pan off the trans will drizzle fluid from the front end for a long long time.... well, it drains quarts! I drop the pan empty (drain plug) and lay it under the trans and it fills up while I adjust the band and change the filter.
