Transmission Control boxes??

Transmission Control boxes??
I was reading my new dieselpower mag and it said there are trans control boxes out there like programmers or boxes for our trucks. Where would I find these and would it benifit a stock trans? New to the diesel word so any imput would be great thanks

I'll let the more qualified give the final answer.....but i'm pretty sure that you need a matching valve body (at a minimum) to utilize the shift control boxes.....give some of the big trans shops a call DTT, Suncoast, ATS,....they should be able to provide an answer.

My understanding is they can lock the clutch up in specified gears... Read Goerend's article about Valve bodies, think that's where i saw it. It's very possible i am wrong though. Pretty sure you need an upgraded tranny to utilize a box.
