Transfer case gearing?

Is it possible to alter the gear ratio inside a transfer case (rather than both ring and pinion sets) if you wanted better cruising RPM?

2wd an 4hi are a direct drive through the t-case. You can get aftermarket gear sets for deeper low ranges, but that won't help cruising rpm any.

only way to do that, is either swap axle gears, or put a overdrive unit between the trans & tcase, or on the tcase output if you only want to use it in 2wd
