Transfer Case Fluid

I just wanted to check and make sure that the right fluid to use on the transfer case is Mopar ATF+4 Trans Fluid. I've got 4 speed auto with NV241HD transfer case. The service manual I've got is older & it suggests this and just wanted to make sure this is still recommended to use.

Thanks,
Mike

That's all I use in mine and have gone just a touch over 200k with no problems.

I wouldn't do the Mopar brand. Either NAPA or Walmart are a lot cheaper.

Reason I was going to use Mopar was because I have still got half a case of ATF+4 fluid left & I was going to use it......It is a bit more expensive. I believe that I bought a case of 12 for about $72 at dealership......

Hey, if you already got it, by all means use it. Just for future reference, a case of the same fluid from either Wal-mart or NAPA will cost less than $48. At NAPA you will have to ask for the NAPA brand, some stores like to keep it hid.

Also, you can pick up Castrol ATF+4 for $5.49/qt at AutoZone. Walmarts used to carry Mopar ATF+4 for less than $5/qt, but they stopped carring...at least in my area.
