What kind of fluid do you put in the transfer case? It's the only stock fluid I have left in the truck... might as well change it out too! ;D

ATF +4, Tony. Valvoline MaxLife ATF is +4 approved as I understand it, but doesn't state so on the bottle. It's in their web site however and it's a heck of a lot cheaper than MOPAR.

It holds a little less than 3 quarts.

Re:Transfer Case fluid amount

I'm running big A's universal ATF in my T-case.

Here's the capacities:
NV241 Standard- 5 pints
NV241 HD- 6.5 pints
NV241 HD w/PTO- 9 pints

I've got the standard. The data tag in either the glove box or on the underside of the hood should tell you which T-case you have.

Re:Transfer Case fluid amount

Would it say with PTO if my T-Case Has one?
Just trying to figure out if mine has the PTO.

Also will it just fill till it's full or is there a certian level?

One other thing where can I get the Max Life =+4 Approved stuff!

Thanks
DRecu!

Re:Transfer Case fluid amount

I doubt you have PTO and don't know about it. You'll just have blocking plates on the sides of the trans where a PTO would mount. This means you have capability for PTO mounted accesories.

PTO = Power Take off. This is for running auxilliary pumps etc. for accesories like snow plows etc.

Years ago I had a Scout with a Ramsey PTO winch. God I would give anything to have that system back. 3 speeds in, reverse out and a whoopping 86 horsepower winch with 80K rated drum. It was apleasure pulling people out instead of a chore.
