trans temps accurate?

going down the highway and in city driving i am only seeing trans temps of 115-120 degrees. i have the sender in the side of my PML pan. whenever i stop and put it in park i see 130-135 degrees. how much fluid is in the pan when the trans is in drive, and are these temps accurate
