trans temp

my truck has a isspro trans oil temp gauge starts at 140degrees. I'm thinking I should get a lower reading gauge since it's never moved. what should the pan temp be or is my gauge not working?

My guess is that something is not working correctly. It is almost effortless to heat up a 727 or A518 in these trucks! I have my Isspro gauge plumbled into the HOT line of the transmission. Average temps are 150-160 degrees.

Generally speaking, a trans NEEDS to see 160º-180º to evaporate off condensation from the trans fluid.

If you're not registering anything on a 140º guage, something is wrong. I'm guessing either the wiring , sending unit or gauge is faulty.
